Command Sergeant Major Hans Jürgen Stark was born in Saarlouis, Saarland near the French border on July 17, 1967.
He joined the German Army, Signal Intelligence and Electronic Warfare Branch in January, 1987.
In 1994, he was selected for a regular appointment, and in July 2011, he achieved the rank of Sergeant Major.

The Bronze, Silver, and Golden Cross of Honor of the Federal Armed Forces; three NATO Service Medals; the Service Medal of the Federal Armed Forces for the mission in former Yugoslavia; ISAF Service Medal; Resolute Support Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal; Army Achievement Medal; Army Commendation Medal as well as the German Armed Forces Proficiency Badge in Gold (5).
He is an honorary member of the Sergeant Audie Murphy Club.
